OSCE Courses

We currently offer a bespoke 2 day comprehensive weekend intensive course covering the pertinent topics listed in the ‘Matrix specification of Core Clinical Conditions’. We also offer a 4 hour OSCE Mock Exam course which involves up to 12 stations where you will be required to perform different tasks depending on the scenario.

1. Practical skills:

We will provide necessary equipment and resources to enable you to practise and improve your clinical practical skills.

 

  • IM injections
  • SC injections
  • Venepuncture
  • Cannulation
  • Suturing
  • Urinalysis
  • Capillary blood glucose monitoring
  • ECG and X-ray interpretation

2. History Taking

After teaching on principles of history taking there will be ample opportunity to practise newly acquired skills through role play.

We aim to help you formulate your diagnosis within minutes of your history taking and help you develop a safe and efficient management plan.

  • Breaking bad news
  • Sexual health

3. Examinations

We will help in the development of excellent clinical and examination skills in relation to signs and symptoms.

 

  • Respiratory
  • Cardiovascular
  • Gastroenterology
  • Endocrinology (thyroid/ neck lumps and diabetic foot)
  • Neurological (Cranial Nerves, Upper + Lower Limb examinations)
  • Musculoskeletal (Spine, Shoulder, Hip and Knee)
  • Breast

 

4. Emergencies

During this teaching session we will provide CPR dummies and deliver presentations on how to deal with emergencies in concordance with the matrix.

 

  • BLS child/adult (CPR/Choking)
  • ABDCE approach
  • Sepsis
  • Electrolyte disturbances inc. hypo/hyper glycaemia, hyper/hypokalaemia etc.

Course 2

OSCE MOCK EXAM

This course is a 4 hour OSCE mock exam. This will involve up to 12 stations were you will be required to perform different tasks depending on the senario. You will be asses by examiners and given individual honest and constructive advised to highlight your strengths and weakness which will help you best prepare you for your OSCE’s.
